Who am I?

Who am I? Well isn't that a good question, but first I'll explain a little behind the reasoning behind the blog title.
I named it after the film starring Will Smith, "The Pursuit of Happyness", because a) it's a damned great film, and b) upon watching it, I found I could relate to the situation that Chris Gardner found himself in - albeit on a very diluted scale. The blog has been named solely for the personal aspect behind the title rather than any actual relevance to the content within the writing.

My name is Luke, and I work in the IT tech-support industry. Not the easiest thing in the world to get out of bed for, but it's all I'm qualified for. Until of course somebody from the planet of journalism takes a look at my writings and decides I have potential.....hint-hint.

I have an interest is politics, graphic art and design and...general complaining about anything that mildly disgruntles me (the latter becoming apparent when you read some of my blog pages). I would also say that I'm pretty competent on the guitar, but that would be lying.
Music is quite important to me. I like pretty much anything from what's in the charts, all the way to country, rock,  and even classical orchestra. I would like to think that this is down to the influence of my step-father; who is a music technician. The rule that I like to follow is: "If it's got a good beat, then it's worth a listen - unless it's Justin Beiber."

Another one of my interests is the English language. Language is a truly fascinating thing - you can tell so much about a culture by studying their language, and you can learn so much about an individual by the way that they use their language. I do like the literature side of English too, but to study it academically actually does major mental pain to me. I'll stick to creating the literature, rather than to study it.

I currently reside in the eastern suburbs of Newcastle, more aptly named as 'Studentville'. It's a nice area with literally everything one could ever want on one street. I have just moved into a quaint little flat with a good friend and thankfully, we haven't torn each other's throats out - yet.

I still don't actually own my own computer yet (I know, right) so posts will be less frequent than for David Cameron to admit that he's wrong, but it's not like you guys really jones for this stuff anyway.
